The course is designed to equip the massage therapist with a basic understanding of hygiene and pathology.

There are many diseases and there are too many to memorize. The health care practitioner(s) and/or the massage therapist student(s) will develop a basic understanding of hygiene, pathogens and pathologies, how the body responds to disease, especially with the skin and muscles. Then when encountering something new or when learning about a new disease that has just come out (i.e. SARS), they can apply what they have learned.
